Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this site and our guides. Here is where we stand against WCAG 2.2 AA, what still needs work, and how to ask for another format.

1.Our commitment

Digital Crown Ltd, trading as Food Made Clear, wants as many people as possible to be able to use this website and our guides, including people who use screen readers, magnification, keyboard-only navigation or voice control, and people who find reading difficult. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA and we design beyond it where it helps our readers.

2.What we have done

  • Body text is large (17 px and up) with high contrast against the background, and the site can be zoomed to 200% without content being cut off.
  • Every button and link is at least 44 px tall so it is easy to tap, and all of them can be reached and operated with the keyboard with a visible focus outline.
  • Headings, lists, tables, forms and landmarks are coded so screen readers can navigate them; images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Colour is never the only way we convey a food rating: each rating also has a word and, in the guides, a shape.
  • We respect your system preference for reduced motion.
  • Forms give clear, specific error messages, and nothing is on a time limit.

3.Known limitations

  • PDF guides. Our PDFs are generated automatically and are readable by most screen readers, but they are not yet fully tagged to the PDF/UA standard, so reading order and table navigation may be imperfect. The food lookup web page that comes with every guide contains the same information in accessible HTML.
  • Some illustrations on marketing pages include decorative text within the image; the same words always appear as real text nearby.
  • Third-party payment pages are run by Stripe, whose accessibility we do not control, though Stripe publishes its own conformance information.

4.Alternative formats

If you need a guide in a different form, for example large print, a plain-text version, or a version with a different colour scheme, email support@foodmadeclear.co.uk or phone +44 20 3953 5727. We will do our best to provide it within 10 working days at no extra charge.

5.Tell us about a problem

If you find something on this website or in a guide that you cannot use, please tell us. Include the page address or guide name, what you were trying to do and, if you can, the browser or assistive technology you were using. We reply within 2 working days and treat accessibility problems as faults to fix, not feedback to file.

If you are not satisfied with our response, our complaints process explains the next step. The Equality Act 2010 gives you the right to be treated fairly by service providers; the Equality Advisory and Support Service can advise you free of charge.

6.About this statement

This statement was prepared on 25 October 2026 following a review of the website using automated checks, keyboard-only testing and screen-reader spot checks on representative pages (home, shop, product, checkout, learn and legal pages). We review it whenever the site changes substantially and at least once a year.
